Castello di Verrazzano!

Ok let me just first say that if every school started off with a trip like this one today, no one would ever drop out of college. Today we went to Castello di Verrazzano Winery in the Tuscan Hills.

After a very sketchy bus ride up some very narrow roads with on coming traffic flying by at 50 mph, we finally made it to the top of at the mountain to Verrazzano Castle. After an hour tour through the wine cellars, we made our way to the best wine tasting I have ever had.

Medici Family's Private 300 year old Stash

 Hunted and Stuffed Boar
 Our Table

 All the wines for tasting
First Course (Pasta with special seasoning)
Wine: Morning white
Second Course (Pasta with ground beef)
Wine: White
Third Course (Slice of Bread, Salad with lemon oil, and slice of pork based in bacon onions and oil)
Wine: Saiste Red
Pre- Dessert (One Wine Grape, Slice of Prugio, Spoon of 100 year old Balsamic Vinegar)
Afternoon Red Wine
Dessert (Biscotti with 17% liquor sweet wine)
I am very proud of my self to have finished all my wines (even the red). Dad I thought you would be so proud. You were right wine here is way better than wine at home. Hence my empty glasses.
Your supposed to dip the biscotti in the liquor and then drink from the biscotti, but I left it in there to long to take this picture so when I took it out to drink, it was like taking a shot of tequila, which I was not expecting, I ended up coughing for like 10 minutes. Once done with biscotti your suppose to drink what is left of liquor, but they didn't say sip slowly and very small sips so me and my table mates throw it back like a shot, yeah never had my lungs, teeth, tongue, throat burn so bad in my life, I was crying by the time I left the table.

 Grapes growing on the terrace.

Entrance to the private castle (Family still lives there so we couldn't see inside the actual castle)
Definitly the best field trip I have ever been on.
