This morning at 6am my roommates and I were all woken up by the loudest crack of thunder. All morning we watched the amazing thunder and lighting. It was literally the loudest I have ever heard. And since it is pouring rain in Florence today, I grabbed my rainboots ( so happy I packed them!!!) and umbrella and headed to class. Instead of sketching we headed to the local market. It wasn't until we went here did I truely feel like I was in Italy.
The very gross meat market. I saw a butcher chop the head off of a pig, I was horrified. I mean I know that is what they are suppose to do but actually seeing it was bad and to make it worse the old butcher smiled at us was he chopped off its legs. Obviously getting a kick out of our horrified expressions.
The very cool wine shop. ( way to many reds and not enough whites.)
The interior of the market use to be an old train station.
The large variety of cheeses.
